Comment | Not exactly what you're asking as I've been powerlifting for about 10 years now as I was a rugby forward and it was a natural progression.
However, I'd suggest looking into Powerlifting rather than bodybuilding, it's somewhat similar in its goal but the powerlifting community is very supportive and open to young entrants.
Bodybuilding can create a bit of the old dysmorphia as someone else pointed out but powerlifting is all about the lifts and you can push some really impressive numbers without obsessive calorie counting and the other "extra curriculars" that are so common with the aesthetics folk.
Extreme Gym might be your best best all round as they've got good coaches in most disciplines and the best thing of all, plentiful power cages. |
