The bottle deposit scheme is a bunch of green washing bullshit as well. It increases use of plastic over recyclable materials (in countries with alcohol addictions issues it also exacerbated it) and the plastics are not recycled. We don’t have the facilities to, Europe doesn’t, they ship it to Asia and a lot of it is essentially fly tipped because even they don’t want it. |
