| Comment | This is absolutely not the case. They should take the details down and do investigations themselves into dates of birth/names if they feel the concern warrants it. As others have said, phone back and see if you can speak to someone else and if you have no luck ask to speak to a senior.
It may be that you only managed to speak to an administrator, who does need a date of birth or name to search for the child. In this case ask to speak to a duty social worker. |
