My Dad was a taxi driver for years and so is my Uncle, they had to pass a London style knowledge test before becoming taxi drivers. This was years ago mind you so might have changed now. Had a few drivers who know every inch of the city and a few that couldn't figure out the way to the O2 Academy from Glasgow Central.
