RT are a state-controlled new outlet; a Putin propaganda machine. It always has been, and everyone knows this. Yet Salmond chose to have his show on the platform.
Why? Either no other major network wanted him, so he decided that he didn't care that he was complicit in an authoritative regime. Or, alternatively, he chose them because he (in some way) supports them. Or they paid him megabucks. Either way, he went through with it of his own volition.
Now, do I *actually* think we should go protest outside Salmond's gaff? Of course not. But OP was trying to make a jokey comment about how, in a war driven by information and disinformation, those who willingly peddle disinformation (or willingly help advertise sources of disinformation) are like generals in the war room.
Now Salmond has, in the last few hours, suspended his show on RT. So there may be a little bit of credibility left in the guy. |
