Data recovery is, unfortunately, a specialist job. **DO NOT** just take the SSD to the local PC shop and hope.

I have no personal experience of any in Glasgow, but when you search you want an actual, physical establishment that you can go to. Many of the result links will be to generic unknowns who will ask you to mail the SSD.

_Hopefully_ it's just a bad controller or something simple (I assume you have tried different cables and USB ports?). As the disc isn't even recognised at a hardware level, I doubt any software tools will be able to help (although if it's just the OS being a dick, there's still a chance).

Don't play around with too much though, you will probably only make things worse.

For everyone else reading, follow 3-2-1: three copies, on two media types, with one off-site. "The cloud" can help but be aware on the costs in exfiltrating your data again and other actions the cloud provider may take (e.g. lowering image quality).
