Honestly, having grown up best mates with these "inadequates" i can tell you many of them are the result of a shite home life and a failed social system.

I was a wee geek growing up but was mates with a few of them anyway due to certain circumstances (mums were pals etc)

All i remember anytime i visited their house was abuse, poverty and more abuse. Be sitting in my mates playing the PlayStation when my mates mum comes home and just starts leathering fuck out of him in front of me. Ten years old. Ears bleeding.

So yeah from what ive heard, at high school he was a bit of a dick. Surely bullied and made others lives miserable. And im not absolving him of all responsibility. But the school knew what was going on in his home life. The police had been round a dozen times. Every neighbour would hear the screams when the mum lost her shitty temper.

And yet, here he is still getting judged from the grave for being an "inadequte"

And im no even having a go at you. Many of us including me and my mates had it rough growing up. Mate, i was playing pokemon and warhammer. Trust me when i say i know, i get how easy it is to become bitter and just label them all inadequates. Me and my best mate got jumped because hes ginger and i had to watch him getting stomped by a team of lads. Still get nightmares about it.

Yet what i would say, every time, is every kid growing up like that, a wee fanny in high school, has it ten times worse behind closed doors. Just before you label someone inadequte again, have a wee think first.
