| Comment | NATO doesn't court countries. Countries court NATO. They do this in Eastern Europe because they believe they are threatened by Russian aggression. There isn't any more to Russian politics than Putin, not for the last few years anyway. The reason Ukraine's president turned away from the West was severe pressure from Russia. People rioted because this was in direct conflict with his manifesto. |
