Used to freegan up the west end when i studied at Glasgow uni. The iceland near the Hillhead station used to have tons of good stuff. Would be like a wee party as the students and the homeless bounce down together sharing out bread and smashing the munch bunch there with fellow freeganers.
Was shite though. Waitrose started putting ink n shit on their bins and people were going out there way. The amount of perfectly good food wasted is appalling. Iceland were locking there's up so we all just stopped in the end. Was good while it lasted.
I wasnt poor either for those interested. There was an active community who didn't want to waste stuff. |
