Saw this earlier and wanted to come back to it, hope the OP has gotten something sorted out with all the advice flying in!

As a sort of side note, I saw someone mentioning "working poor" and "benefits" earlier, just a personal anecdote, I started working full time for min wage recently, single and live in social rented accomodation, and even working full time, my take home pay is low enough that I still get a wee bit of universal credit. It's wiped out by my previous advances mind you, however that won't last forever and though min wage will increase, NI increase might leave me with less take home, therefore still due UC. Anyone finding themselves working and worrying about the looming cost of living crisis, um, might be an idea to use a benefit calculator and see if you "might" actually be due a little back from the DWP. Taking a full time job honestly made little difference to my disposable income as you then account for paying full council tax etc as a result also. I'd been living abroad for a while, came back mid covid, now doing what I can to get by but in this strange, twisted world, where minimum wage is so low that I still qualify for out of work benefits while working full time. So it goes.

Also, regarding paying council tax, I checked today to see that the cost of living discount has been applied, might make a difference to some of you. £150 all in it seems, mine was taken from my first 2 instalments for the year so next months is cancelled out, yass! Should be automatic I believe but best to check regardless. Not like GCC never make mistakes ...

Not specific to the OP as such, but hope this helps someone out there!
