| Comment | Yeah totally agree. It seems so incredibly random and arbitrary. When I changed lender last year the mortgage company sent round a surveyor to check the property value. He basically told me the current value of my house within a minute of meeting him, and without him going beyond ringing my doorbell and despite the fact that I’d spent nearly 10 years renovating the house since I bought it and had spent a fortune on it.
He was only interested in the standard inflation figure he’d previously looked up.
Don’t really blame him though, I think location and square footage is what they base things off of, regardless of what you’ve done |
