There are more affordable options outwith the south side, west end of Glasgow.

Have you tried areas like Cambuslang, East Kilbride etc? I mean it if just a starter home won't cost you to much over home report value possibly below and will allow you to build equity. Then when you want a nicer place sell that home.

When I was looking in 2020 prices went up like crazy the pandemic had started bidding wars people paying well over homes value just to own a home. I saw some really nice places but could never win. Then I looked at Cambuslang bought a home never looked back only 15 minutes train to city centre or 15 to South Side.

The only thing you don't have in Cambuslang compared to East Kilbride is the amenities no shopping centre. Just a main main street. In East Kilbride you have a shopping centre but its way further from Glasgow City centre.
