i know some people will say "oh it's historic and should be saved" but i think the building has always looked horrible and depressing. if you've ever been to cumbernauld, it feels like that building is always watching over you as if to say "you can never escape the depression that only comes through living in poverty" and as a result, i feel it should be knocked down. it's all well and good for people to say "it's historic" but that's not really comfort for the people that have to work/live near there. many of which i've spoken to hate it.

i'm also going to say it but i feel shopping centers are kinda the same. i lived in EK for 25 years and that shopping center basically feels like a looming presence saying "you are what you buy and what you buy, you buy from us because there's nothing else to do and nowhere else to go"
