I've lived in Glasgow and Nottingham (well, Beeston).

Access to mainland Europe and London is **much** easier from Nottingham. You are also closer to major international airports (just a brief train ride away). Nottingham also has integrated public transport.

Glasgow is, however, bigger and more vibrant in terms of culture. There are more opportunities in general and, of course, access to the rest of Scotland is **much** easier from Glasgow. Access to London is a short flight or even the Caledonian Sleeper. Newcastle is not far and there are non-P&O ferries to Europe.

The two things I miss from Nottingham/Beeston are the walk along the Trent river/canal (Glasgow ignores it's river) and pubs with decent beer. It's hard to find a place in Glasgow that isn't just yet another bar selling generic Heineken/Carlsberg/Stella. Quality local beer on draught really isn't a thing.

You need to decide for yourself based on what you want. Me, I'm back and living in Glasgow.
