Might be a bit obvious, but Edinburgh has lots for kids.

- National Museum of Scotland is free and you could spend a day there.
- Portobello beach
- Edinburgh Botanic Gardens
- Zoo is good for all ages but expensive
- The walk round Arthur’s Seat is lovely - might be a bit much going to the top with the youngest, but you can go some of the way up on the far side and it’s not as steep.
- There’s always lots on during the Festival - we did a Silent Disco walking tour with our son and he loved it. A lot of the shows aimed at kids are free (usually ask for a donation at the end).

Remember kids get free bus passes now. Edinburgh is very easy to get around - you can buy an all day family pass that works on the buses and trams for about £7-10 I think.
