Whenever I move somewhere new, I put a note through the immediate neighbours door with my number and just ask them to let me know if any noise is bothering them. I always think that opens the way for them to politely say if something isn't acceptable. If I don't hear from them I know I'm good, if I do I can either stop or speak or them about it
