It's a well known system. Arty & music types move into a working class area for cheap rent. Then a little bit of gentrification happens, this attracts all the young professionals and then all the coffee shops, micro breweries and artisan bakeries pop up and all the traditional residents and businesses are priced out. See Dennistoun, Finnieston, Vicky Rd etc.

It's pretty shi for the original folks, though most of us have probably been out eating and drinking in these areas at some point, so we have supported it.

I actually wouldn't mind a wee bit of gentrification in Rutherglen. Not too much, but a few nice pubs.
