Totally agree with you the train ticket prices in UK are pretty overpriced compared to other European countries. In fact UK has the most expensive ticket prices in Europe. Which is pretty surprising considering UK industrial revolution being one of the earliest ones on this continent. Your employer should definitely take care of the transportation costs.
