Comment | It’s not that they don’t have the baws, it’s just not worth the hassle. What do they get paid these days? Whatever it is, it’s not enough to deal with the hassle of fighting with jakeys, having to fill reports in on unpaid time after their shift, possibly deal with the polis, possibly end up as a court witness, while being disciplined by their company for leaving the cab to get involved in an altercation. That’s the reality for those guys and girls. Drivers are on their bus for 5 hours. Bams are on it for about half an hour. The quicker they get on with the route, the quicker the dregs get off.
For the passenger, they may remember a journey plagued with bams for a long time because they were intimidated/scared/annoyed/amused. For a driver it’s literally a multiple times per shift occurrence. |
