I lived in Shettleston for years in a lovely 2 bed flat with a flatmate. Rent and bills was deffo £400-£450 a month and the area was nice.

There seems to be this snobbery that there is nowhere in Glasgow worth living if it’s not the city centre or the west end. I wish people would stop “advising” their friends who are moving to Glasgow that the west end is the best place to be.

Sure it’s the best place if you want to live in squalor with 5 other students in a grimey tenement and pay £600 each for the pleasure 🤣

OP - broaden your search to further afield. You’ll get far more for your money and probably live in a quieter area.
