I get it. I apologised for my shitty tone and I’ll leave my original comment in. You are totally correct in that reacting like that doesn’t facilitate a positive interaction. I think that when I saw your comment and username, I wrongly assumed you were on the wind-up.

When I think of protests resulting in positive action, I always think about Womens Suffrage Movement first. Followed by racial inequality protests - the most famous one with MLK I Have A Dream speech, to the more recent George Floyd related ones were very successful in gaining worldwide awareness, showing solidarity and addressing important issues. The protests resulting in the destruction of the Berlin Wall is huge in my mind too when it comes to protests being successful.

For me, even though a few hundred people standing in George Square isn’t going to stop any wars on its own, showing solidarity to those directly effected by it, living in our city is hugely important. If everyone sat back and did nothing, no pressure would be put on those in charge making decisions.
