Had a very similar experience actually around 2010. The "interview" was in town and there was loads of folk waiting so I thought OK must be legit. They sent us to Queen St to hock make up kits. I actually sold a couple but to get the "wages" you had to call up a premium phone number at a couple of quid a minute. I remember the woman doing my interview had absolutely dead eyes and promised all sorts of nonsense.
Still not the worst job I ever had though. Did a half day in a "call centre" that only phoned up old people to sell them alarm systems. They took away your chair until you got a "bite" then a bunch of heavies would go to the oldyins house. Found out the guy who run it had already been in the Daily Record and got the gaol for doing the SAME THING a few year back. Police didnt care so called up Inland Revenue to say they never gave me a P45 or paid me my wages. |
