Honestly I'd try making friends on a dating app or take a straight friend with you to the bar.
It's much easier to make friends when you are with someone else as it doesn't feel quite as much like a single person invading their group.

I don't have a huge amount of LGBT+ friends but I actually have made a few good ones by meeting them for a date and becoming friends after there was no romantic connection.
I've then made even more by going to gay bars with straight friends and ending up chatting to people, sharing a table with them etc.

I have noticed the cliques but I appreciate that people want to stick to who they know and having a single person approach their group may feel invasive, especially a stranger. Don't give up, don't feel unwelcome in gay spaces, and hey- just have fun 🤷‍♂️
