Comment	like i get being a taxi driver is a tricky job and the pandemic didn't make it better, but if i had £1 for every time a taxi driver just started going off on a rant unprompted, i'd have enough money to pay for a taxi ride to glasgow airport. last year after breaking my arms, i needed to go get a scan at the hospital, couldn't take my bike or drive. i booked the previous and said on the booking "i need to be there by 2:30 so please send your taxi driver to pick me up at my flat by 1:45" 1:45? no taxi. 2:00? no taxi. 2:15 taxi finally arrives and the driver is the saltiest fucker i've ever met in my life. we're going down garscube road and he's just ranting about the cycle lanes and how it's a liberal conspiracy by the SNP to take away our cars and how cyclists should be happy they're even sharing the roads with cars. then asks how did i break my arms, i told him it was from hitting a pothole out on my bike and he says "well maybe now you'll learn people weren't meant to ride bikes" i got to my appointment 30 mins late. i complained to the taxi firm about how late and rude he was and all they said was "well our drivers are under a lot of stress due to covid" didn't even get an apology or nothing.
