| Comment | A few months before the pandemic I got a taxi home from town after an event one evening. The driver totally unprompted starts going on about political correctness and how he’s sick of seeing gays kiss on tv. He then asked me, a gay, directly what I thought of it. I said I am gay so I enjoy seeing it. He went silent for a few minutes and started ranting about race instead. I was really unnerved and asked him to drop me off several streets away so I could get away from him.
Another time right before the pandemic the driver kept asking me what my holiday plans were, and when I said I didn’t have any he kept shilling for his brother’s holiday chalet in Ayr. Seriously the whole 25 min or so from the airport to home he was talking about this chalet and how fantastic it was and what a great and amazing place Ayr is. |
