| Comment | Glasgow like many cities in the world has a varying selection of humans who go from being horrible cunts, like that person who interacted with you, to the polar opposite.
I think outside of the west end and southside you’re likely to find the very occasional occurrence like this. For the most part, like 99% glaswegians and people who live in glasgow are either tolerant or don’t care and their language isn’t always beholden to actual prejudice but just vocabulary.
I lived in wyndford for 3 years and only ever got bothered by a few times, and i walk about in bright coloured dungarees and look peculiar at times, only ever been threatened and called slurs in the city centre though, the bams in maryhill were surprisingly tolerant.
Also small sidenote; calling someone a junkie is a bit shit, they might be a cunt but addiction is a disease and people use junkie in such a dehumanising way that it strips those people of any humanity in others eyes.
Anywhere you move besides probably govanhill or hyndland will have an air of “grass is always greener”. |
