| Comment | Whilst I agree, there are a few issues with cycling in Glasgow.
1. The infrastructure **sucks**. Disconnected, poorly laid out, poorly signed, often unmaintained.
1. You need somewhere to change (and shower) on arrival and not many offices will have those facilities. Obviously that's a function of speed/distance, but deffo a consideration.
1. Securing the bike *can be* an issue and not all offices have parking. Sure, if you ride a nail you might be OK but anything half decent is likely to be stolen/vandalised.
I do get the chicken/egg problem. If not enough people cycle, why build out the infrastructure? Without the infrastructure, why would you cycle?
If the Dutch can do it, we should be able to do so too. Heck, if the Finns can do it during winter, we have no excuse! |
