| Comment | I spoke with a homeless guy just outside Buchanan Bus Station who had asked me to stop and give him money, I gave him the change in my pocket and he just burst into tears. He told me that he was doing well in life, family, hoose, motor, the lot. Then somebody murdered his daughter and it changed who he was as a person, he was constantly angry, bitter, turned to violence himself trying to make himself feel better, ended up in Bar-L for attempted murder on a guy he thought was involved with the murder of his daughter. He didn't ask me for anything else, he was just greetin telling me all about where his life went wrong, the consequences of it, how it can happen to anyone, then he went on his way.
For me just seeing him was emotionally devastating, the guy was clearly fucked, had been through so much, and now he's spiralled down to his worst and most people don't even make eye contact in case he asks them for money. I cannae even imagine continuing with my life at that point, but he managed it.
So aye, maybe not a hilarious cheeky story or whatever but it felt important to me |
