| Comment | The ambiguity is annoying, I already had the following meanings for the term in my head:
a private bar, with comfy seats, newspapers, maybe a dining room, billiards room etc., ladies rarely encountered (can't think of anywhere in Glasgow)
or
a private bar, with suspiciously stained seats, and a badly lit stage with well polished poles where one may find ladies disrobing (is Legs 'n Co still in business?)
or
a private bar, with attached sauna, and places for polishing poles, e.g. Pipeworks
Now it also means a barbershop? At least cutting my own hair avoids the potential for an embarrassing mix-up. |
