The proposed expanded pedestrianised zone to be in place by 2027 (between Hope Street and High Street) will mean absolutely tonnes of roadspace can be reclaimed for other uses. Plenty of space to create mini parks, added greenery, play areas, etc.
I'm quite hopeful about the transformation we could see.
Argyle Street and Saltmarket are getting Avenue treatment in the next couple of years too.
