| Comment | I think a lot of ignorant people, and worse yet people who do know better play up the anti-sassenach sentiment either for laughs, politics, or just cause they're far too attached to what yanks think about Scottish people.
Don't worry, we have tons of English people from all across the country here, it's not like you'll be stumbling into some sweaty tavern, try to order a pint and the whole place turns to look at you because of your accent, most people won't even notice.
Unfortunately, there is one form of abuse you are far more likely to suffer from, which is that when someone hears your accent they might go into a lengthy diatribe about how everyone thinks the english are cunts but actually they're okay really etc. |
