I'm feeling the same, but will force myself to go.

Your second point sums it all up so well and gets me thinking, does the actual elected council make a difference, or is it the actual structure of the unelected portion that is the source of the pain? Not a dig at the employees of the council, but if the right structures and improvement plans aren't in place nothing will really change. I kind of feel we are stuck in an odd stalemate where both councillors and managers are so stuck in the "that's the way it's always been" position, and afraid to upset the applecart in case it all goes wrong and they are on all the front pages that we are almost destined never to see any actual improvement.

Really we need a party that would campaign on major council reorganisation and restructure, and then do it. But it's unlikely they will get voted in. Shite state of affairs.
