So even if you ban explicit party sponsorship/funding/labelling, you still can't stop a candidate from saying, "if elected, I will enact the principles of [chosen party]"
I mean, at core, all a political party is, is a means for political candidates of similar intent to pool resources and form voting blocs that are greater than the sum of their parts, so they will always exist in any electoral system. If anything it's better that they're formalised and open, else the same thing will happen but just behind closed doors. |
