The "trick" to joining a motorway is to be indicating good & early, and use a good chunk of the slip to get up to speed (min 50, but pay attention for any roadworks etc). You can usually adjust your speed down the slip so you can merge into a gap.

Easier than the likes of the expressway due to motorway slips being much longer.

Once on the motorway, keep at a good speed (50+) and **keep left** unless overtaking. Do not become one of those morons who sit in the middle lane because they are utterly gormless.

Spiral roundabouts freaked me out the first time I encountered one (they were not on my test, that's how old I am). The only "trick" is to get into the correct lane at the start, and the rules for that are the same as for a normal r'about (unless signage says otherwise).

If you are in the wrong lane, keep slow and indicate. You might be able to change. If not, simply exit and find somewhere to get turned around. Don't stress about anything, getting turned will barely add more than a minute or so to your total journey time.
