But it always puzzled me why there was socialised healthcare, police, fire and rescue, public services, but not socialised food. The most basic human need.

Maybe the basics should be socialised. Pick up the basics from the basics shop and head to Aldi or Waitrose for the steak, chicken, spices and pot noodles. (Whatever you're in to).

Not in a foodbank kind of way, but a socialised free for all kind of way. Maybe rickets would stop making a comeback.

Your logic is correct, your solution is not. Where would I pick my steaks up from?
