An oft repeated myth, even in the Netherlands when they were initially doing their pedestrianisation back in the 70s. But pretty much every example done showed that businesses did vastly better when parking outside was turned into walkable spaces, and business owners often vastly overestimate how many people drive to shop at their businesses. |
