It has a large Roma community but it is far from predominant of the 14000 residents of Govanhill approximately 3000-3500 are Roma. Like all neighborhoods in Glasgow the majority ethnic group is White British at 60% of the population. This is increasingly true now as the Roma community has seen a bit of an exodus recently and more largely White gentrification continues to happen.
