I recently got a fine for not paying LBTT (no tax due as value was below threshold just form required return). I paid a specific fee for GG to do it. When I phoned they said that solicitor had moved on and several others were in same position. To be fair they paid the fine.
Earlier in the process we were delayed as solicitor did not know different between HTB ISA and Lifetime ISA (again I paid an itemised fee to use this). Ending up causing delays which simply not acceptable when you pay the money 😂
Initial paper work had wrong property, wrong price and wrong seller details - which my mortgage advisor was surprised I was buying at £2 mil house as a FTB 🤣
She never answered emails or phone - and would provide vague replies like ‘Move in date might be between Monday and Friday next week’. 🙃
It probably was a dodgy solicitor rather than the whole firm but still I wouldn’t risk it again. I was also a first time buyer so perhaps my expectations were higher. |
