Unlikely due to mixed-use planning constraints that we have here, and the road layout. You can build higher in the US if you've got commercial units on street level, or build higher if you offer plaza space at street level.


Most of Glasgow wasn't made for cars, and most modern American cities are. Obviously a few 19th Century US cities are based on a similar grid to Glasgow's centre, though. And that's more of a coincidence rather than by design/inspiration.
