When you pre book, it doesn’t really give you any benefit, because the booking only goes live on their system a few minutes before you are due to be picked up.
For any advanced bookings I’ve been using Gett (kinda like Uber for black cabs.) The drivers can see your booking in advance and assign themselves to it up to a week in advance.
Private hire firms have been notoriously operated by unscrupulous characters due to the high volume of cash that runs through the businesses.
The Glasgow Taxi’s black cab company is a Friendly Society run for the benefit of its members and is probably the one where you will get the most professionalism. Defo recommend the Gett app for advanced bookings though, haven’t been let down yet. |
