I think lots of people assume that South Asians are “Indian” - not in a racist way. Not helped by the fact that many businesses purporting to be “Indian” are actually Bangladeshi, Pakistani or Nepalese.

Probably relevant to point out to the OP. It would be like me arriving in India thinking there would be tons of Scottish folk but everyone was actually from Belgium. |
