| Comment | Listen I don’t mean to ruin this for you, but if it’s a busy shift, someone asking me to keep a pound for myself (while appreciated) doesn’t mean I can magically serve them quicker than other people. It means I get to add a pound to our tip jar - which again, thank you, we appreciate it.
It means you’re sound. There’s still a queue of six other couples, friend groups wanting to get rounds in, two old ladies waiting for cups of tea in the back, a floor that needs mopped because some wee guys just spilt sambuca, someone who needs their break covered upstairs, and people waiting for someone to take their food orders at their tables.
You’ll get served when I serve you. It’s that simple, and I say that with gratitude and respect. It’s just how it is. |
