Objectively I’d say it’s worse post covid as we still don’t have the transport up and running to support the city centre to function as a city centre.

There’s a lot of feral behaviour amongst young opportunists and some vulnerable people that has resulted in main drags of central Glasgow not being as safe as they have been.

Retail-wise. Glasgow is not the worst although is facing a lot of closures of huge units. There’s already plans to move back to “high street” models rather than superstores and malls.

You can tell times are tight though. Far less people out and about than there used to be. West End isn’t hit as hard as has both a younger studenty demographic and rich retirees so it’s not as visible.

Southside you’d be forgiven for thinking we were in a boom period due to the incredibly quick gentrification of the area.
