The measure is a bit more complex than just pure salary, but I'd expect a middle class couple to have a combined income in excess of £160k.
Other factors are level of education (e.g. degree), and type of work (e.g. office).
Pure salary doesn't really work as many working class people out earn their middle class counterparts. Cite: tried to get a plumber or electrician of late?
