Linlithgow is nice, with a decent country park just up the hill (Beecraigs).

Cramond (north-west of Edinburgh) is lovely and worth it for the walk out to the old defense post/island.

A little further afield, the drive to Skye. Easily one of the most beautiful drives in Scotland, across Rannoch Moor and up through Glencoe. Did it a few years ago and found ourselves stopping almost every few miles to take photos. Skye is gorgeous too if you have time to spend there.
St. Andrews and the coastal parts of Fife are also lovely for a visit, especially if the weather is nice.
