Kinda hard to describe but if you can see the straight wood grain on the top AND the bottom, can you see end grain anywhere? end grain: the grain of wood seen when it is cut across the growth rings.
If so look closely to see if the end grain pattern matches the pattern of the straight grain on the top and bottom of the piece.

It would be unusual to go to the expense to veneer the bottom of a table and then not finish it which leads me to think that you might have a solid wood piece.
If looking for matches in the endgrain and straight grain does not work, there is no non-destructive way I know of testing.
