| Comment | Which kind of shops are you talking about? Most of the big department shops or clothes shops in the City Centre will close at around 6pm, on Thursdays they usually stay open a little later. As for supermarkets like Tesco, Sainsbury's etc - it depends on the size of the store. Most of the bigger supermarkets stay open til 10pm or so, there are some really large ones (Tesco in Maryhill is the first that springs to mind for me) that stays open 24/7.
