Counterintuitively, most people do their shopping during the normal working hours of 9-5(ish).


I manage a large retail led pharmacy and we get really good transaction data from our tills telling us exactly when our customers are shopping. In every store that I've managed, the graph of that data has shown a sharp drop in footfall after 5:30pm that makes it unprofitable to trade even past 6pm.


With businesses struggling at the moment to recruit and retain good people, you'll likely find that opening hours will be trimmed even further
