Comment | The park at Duchall Pl is where the young neds hang about and lob rocks at passing buses.
The cycle path behind Earl St is where the older neds and gangs of youths hang around and drink. They generally do this to stay out of sight of the police as they don’t want to be seen. But probably not advisable to be walking along the cycle path at 8pm on a Friday unless you’re the Yoker Fleeto looking for a fight.
You’re unlikely to get caught up in trouble in Earl St if you don’t go looking for it. Any trouble that happens would likely be people known to each other.
That being said it’s not an affluent area and there is lots of social housing in the mix. If you end up with some bad neighbours who are constantly out of their face, partying, and have no respect for their surroundings then life could be hell.
If your immediate neighbours are ok then you should be fine. There is a bus stop right at Duchall Pl. transport and road links are good.
Best advice is to do what you are doing, go up and check the area out, check the property and the common areas out. You’re not going to need body armour to go to the shops but Scotstoun/Earl won’t be for everybody. |
