I didn’t read all that as I understand what you are saying and explaining the pay rise as not that but only trying to rise with cost of living.

Point being that logic reads as everyone else has had a pay cut.

My argument and it’s my opinion - is that other areas should be seeing rises from the public purse way before a train driver. I think other roles are underpaid, worse conditions, etc.

The argument might be that everyone should get a rise. But if we are honest & realistic - that won’t happen. It’ll be first come first served or who has most power.

I think what has been speculated is - if a pay rise was to occur across the board - the result will be that way inflation will rise as a result and we will be back to square one.

The logical and what I believe the likely outcome will be that some will get and some won’t. Creating or resulting in a rise - but not as steep. So those that don’t get will likely remain worse off.

Collectively maybe we should look to advocate for those worst off first.
